KALIBO, Aklan- An Akeanon has expressed support for the Filipino-American (Fil-Am) campaign in Los Angeles, California, against widespread bullying and hate, especially for Asian races.

Tommie Mopia, a resident of Makato, Aklan, said that young Filipino-Canadian (Fil-Can) actor Gordon Cormier is also supporting such a campaign. Cormier gathered widespread fans in the Netflix world because of his role as Aang in the live adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Mopia represented Filipino-Americans in the entertainment industry at the conference organized for the Act to Change Campaign. The event is part of the 6th Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) month celebration. The AAPI meeting was held on May 18, 2024, at the Rideback Ranch in Los Angeles, California.

The said meeting includes discussion on the reimagining of the school curriculum in California, public safety, and federal policies to be more inclusive and proactive.

“Imagine a world without bullying,” Mopia said.
