DSWD6 provides ₱1.8M aid for Kanlaon response operations



Negros- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI released a total of ₱1,856,652-worth of food and non-food items in its response operations for families affected by Mt. Kanlaon eruption in Negros Island.

As of 2pm of June 8, 2024, the agency has released the assistance to 1,650 affected families composed of 5,514 individuals. Most of the affected families are from La Castellana in Negros Occidental with 1,239 affected families or 4,293 individuals.

As of reporting time, 1,177 families are remaining inside evacuation centers with 4,131 individuals, all in La Castellana.

On the other hand, there are 50 displaced families who opted to seek shelter in their relatives and friends consisting of 129 individuals.
