Aklan POO hosts LCE Forum on 4Ps, other DSWD program implementation

KALIBO, Aklan- Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) – Aklan Provincial Operations Office (POO) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI (DSWD FO VI) hosted the Local Chief Executives (LCE) Forum on October 7, 2025, at Ati-Atihan County Inn, Kalibo, Aklan. The event brought together representatives from all 17 municipalities of the province to discuss updates, challenges, and priorities in the implementation of 4Ps.
Among the attendees were local chief executives, SB members, and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (MSWDOs). Present at the forum were Buruanga Mayor Allan P. Dagohoy, SB Member Robert Obrique, Banga Mayor Noel L. Redison, Lezo SB Member Mary Lucy R. Dela Cruz, and Nabas Mayor James V. Solanoy, who participated to gain a comprehensive understanding of the program and stay informed about the latest developments in 4Ps policy.
DSWD FO VI OIC Regional Director Joselito G. Estember emphasized the importance of the forum as a platform for dialogue among stakeholders and partners to champion social protection programs.
Planning Officer III Maurice John Caban provided an orientation on DSWDโ€™s programs and services, while 4Ps Division Chief Belen P. Gebusion discussed the key provisions of Republic Act 11310, which institutionalized 4Ps. She also clarified the beneficiary selection and exit processes and addressed common misconceptions about household dependency on the program.
LGUs raised issues and concerns particularly on budget limitations, but there was a collective assurance of support to the programs and services of DSWD, especially the continuation and improvement of the 4Ps. PSWDO Evangelina F. Gallega encouraged municipalities to embrace partnerships and gradually allocate local funds for sustainable implementation of programs.
The forum concluded with remarks from Richard A. Sevilla, Aklan SWAD Team Leader, who expressed gratitude for the participation of all attendees and encouraged the strengthening of ties and collaboration among the municipalities./dswd6/ndbulacan
