
San Jose, Antique โ Now on its third leg of its regional roll-out, the Department of TourismโWestern Visayas, in partnership with the Provincial Tourism Office of the Antique Provincial Government and in coordination with the Capiz Provincial Tourism Office, conducted the ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฆ๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐๐๐ฒ๐๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ง๐ผ๐ผ๐น ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ง๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ (๐ฆ-๐ ๐๐ง๐ง๐) at Adelaide Travellers and Tourist Inn, Inc. from November 18 to 19, 2025.
Aimed at enhancing data compilation and providing a standardized rapid assessment tool for the analysis and classification of tourism sites and products in the region, the training was officially kicked off with an encouraging welcome message from Hon. Ricky M. Lavega, PCL Provincial Federation President and SP Chairperson for the Committee on Tourism in the Province of Antique.
Participated in by a total of 26 tourism officers, statistics focal persons, and/or tourism planning officers from Antique and Capiz (2nd batch), the two-day training included lecture-discussions on the recommended steps in formulating Tourism Development Plans, steps in profiling the local industry, and Tourism Site Portfolio Building using the S-MATTA tool. These sessions were facilitated by distinguished resource persons from the DOT Central Office under the Office of Tourism Development Planning, Research, and Information Management.
On the second day, the LGU participants were given the opportunity to visit and assess various attraction sites located in the central municipalities of the province, namely:
– Villa Valderrama Mountain Resort in Valderrama
– Bagtason Loom Weaving Association Center in Bugasong
– Sibalom Natural Park in Sibalom
– Banglid Dos in San Remigio
– Montevalle Resort in San Remigio
– Aningalan Highlands in San Remigio
Part of the closing ceremony was the awarding of customized logbooks to the top 25 tourist attractions/sites in Antique based on their 2024 same-day arrival data. The special tokens were received by the tourism officers present.
