Intramuros Now Allows Permit-free Photography

Manila- The historic Walled City of Intramuros is welcoming photographers, camera enthusiasts, and hobbyists alike to capture its centuries-old beauty through a new policy allowing the use of professional cameras for personal and souvenir photography without a permit.
The initiative, led by the Intramuros Administration (IA) in partnership with CameraHaus, aims to make heritage photography more accessible and encourage photographers to share the stories of Intramuros through their lenses.
Photographers must still observe site guidelines, such as restrictions on flash photography in some areas, to protect historic structures and museum collections.
Further promoting photography as a way to experience Intramuros, CameraHaus, in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) and IA, held its inaugural Street Summit on October 24 (Saturday), bringing together more than 300 photographers, content creators, and visual artists for a community photowalk in the Walled City.
With the theme โIntramuros Reframed,โ the summit encouraged participants to see the Walled City through fresh eyes and capture its lesser-known corners.
The DOT continues to support initiatives advancing greater appreciation of the Philippinesโ cultural heritage and historic landmarks.
