The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) hails President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for putting his stamp of approval on the creation of the National Sports Tourism Inter-Agency Committee (NST-IAC) through Administrative Order โ38.
This is considered a landmark issuance signed by the President on Oct. 29, 2025 that unites key government agencies to harmonize, coordinate, and oversee all efforts to develop, promote, and sustain sports tourism in the Philippines.
โThe PSC expresses its full commitment to leading this new inter-agency body in advancing the bold vision of making the Philippines a premier sports tourism destination in Asia, together with counterparts from the Department of Tourism (DoT), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR),โ said PSC Chairman Patrick C. Gregorio.
โThis is an invaluable recognition of how sports can enable the youth, enable regional development, enable tourism and enable new industries. โWe understand our role. We are enablers. Whether itโs working with DepEd for grassroots development or with the DoT for sports tourism, sports will be a key catalyst and driver of the national agenda,โ he added.
