2nd Hinuguran It Akeanon Trade Fair Pays Homage to Aklanon Festivals

Kalibo, Aklan- Following the successful launching of the first Hinuguran It Akeanon Trade Fair last year during the Aklan Day Celebration, it is set to be staged again this year on April 17-27, 2024 at the Aklan Trade Hall, Provincial Capitol Grounds, Estancia, Kalibo, Aklan.

The trade fair aims to pay homage to the rich, cultural festivals in the Province of Aklan featuring the Aklan Piña & Fiber Festival, Talibong Festival, and Ati-Atihan Festival. It will showcase our local artisans’ creativity and craftsmanship thereby reflecting the unique Aklanon traits of being hardworking, passionate, and creative especially in the field of arts and crafts.

Locally-made products by our 75 participating micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will be spotlighted in individual and shared booths with a special set-up in the center to highlight these industry sectors. The displays will consist of loomwoven fabrics and wearables made of piña and other indigenous fibers, fashion accessories, gifts, furnishings, decorative crafts and food products, among others.

Six (6) institutional buyers will be invited as well to grace the trade and marketing activity and to visit the production sites of our Aklanon MSME producers located in the different municipalities.

This initiative is in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Aklan, DTI Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (BDTP), Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PHILFIDA), Provincial Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council (PSMEDC), Hugod Aklanon Producers Association, Inc. and Aklan Fashion Designers Association (AFDA).
