4,715 More Trike Drivers Receive Cash Aid

ILOILO – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI continues to roll out its Cash Relief Assistance (CRA) payouts to various Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Associations across the region, now nearing two weeks of implementation.

Just yesterday, the Department successfully distributed assistance to 4,715 driver-beneficiaries through simultaneous payout activities in the provinces of Aklan, Iloilo, Antique, and Guimaras.

Each beneficiary received β‚±5,000 to help ease the financial strain brought about by rising fuel costs.

In Aklan, a total of 577 drivers were served in the municipality of New Washington. In Antique, payouts reached 127 drivers in Libertad and 577 in Pandan.

Meanwhile, in Guimaras, beneficiaries included 663 drivers in Buenavista, 143 in San Lorenzo, and 191 in Sibunag. In Iloilo, payouts were conducted in Alimodian, 222; Balasan, 308; Carles, 127; Estancia, 847; Leon, 500; and San Miguel, 433.

The CRA program follows the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian to provide immediate relief to workers in the public transport sector./mgc
