KALIBO, Aklan – The Municipal Operations Office of Kalibo, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU), organized a two-day Training of Facilitators for 35 youth beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) on May 22–23, 2025, at the Aklan Training Center in Old Buswang, Kalibo.
The initiative aimed to equip participants from all 16 barangays with the skills to serve as peer facilitators and advocates in their communities.
During the opening program, SB Member Hon. Christine C. Dela Cruz encouraged the youth to pursue their aspirations and emphasized the importance of skill development for future opportunities. She also introduced the acronym “KYDS” (Kalibo Youth Development Sessioners) as the official name of the newly formed youth group.
Participants elected officers for the KYDS, who will be registered under the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) led by Officer June Q. Dela Cruz. The LYDO will support the group in expanding its reach and addressing various challenges faced by the youth today.
Aklan Provincial Link Stephen M. Suajico Jr. expressed his appreciation to the facilitators, particularly YDS Focal Sheeryn Mae M. Ramos, and all individuals who contributed to the success of the program.
This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of the 4Ps and the Kalibo LGU to foster youth development and community engagement. (Written by SDA Focal Nirvana Bulacan)
