BINN ‘Angel’ helps seven solo moms during Mother’s Day

KALIBO, Aklan- An ‘angel’ of the Boracay Island News Network (BINN) or a supporter has reached out to at least seven solo moms in this town by giving them cash as part of the celebration of Mother’s Day.

Kalibo Councilor Atty. Christine Candelario Dela Cruz, who organized the said activity, said that the distribution of cash gifts was done at Kalibo Pastrana Park.  Each of the single moms was given P1,000 each through the Boracay Island News Network.

“We are also working on giving the beneficiaries identification cards as single parents in order for them to obtain discounts from grocery stores and pharmacies as mandated by Philippine law,” said Dela Cruz.

Aside from the cash gifts, Avon Products in Aklan  also supported the celebration of Mother’s Day in Kalibo by giving the mothers free make-up and styling of their eyebrows.

The Philippine Girl Scouts-Aklan Chapter also provided assistance in the conduct of the said event.
