Malay, Aklan — The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malay, under the leadership of Mayor Frolibar S. Bautista, successfully conducted a cash grant payout on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) Conference Hall.
A total of 15 families received ₱90,000 each as cash grants for their deceased loved ones who had reached the age of 90, covering the period from May 20, 2022, to December 2024.
The activity was facilitated by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), headed by Ms. Jerre Mae B. Prado, in partnership with the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), led by Mrs. Roberta S. Barrientos.
In his message, Mayor Bautista emphasized that Malay is the only municipality that has enacted such an ordinance to honor its nonagenarian citizens. He also encouraged everyone to care for their elderly family members, stating, “Let us take care of our parents so they may live long and fulfilling lives.”
