Boracay retains World’s Leading Luxury Island title

Bahrain- – For the second consecutive year, Boracay Island is named as the World’s Leading Luxury Island Destination in the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA), reaffirming its status above all other luxury islands worldwide.

The award was accepted on behalf of the Philippines ‘ Department of Tourism (DOT) by Usec. Verna Esmeralda C. Buensuceso and Regional Director Crisanta Marlene P. Rodriguez during the WTA Grand Final Gala Ceremony held on December 6, 2025, at the Exhibition World Bahrain.

“The Department of Tourism Region VI extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Local Government of Malay, the Provincial Government of Aklan, and the entire dedicated workforce and residents of Boracay Island. This award is a testament to our success in letting our guests feel the true luxury of being treated with distinct Filipino hospitality,” said RD Rodriguez.

Boracay Island was also recently included in the Top 10 Islands in Asia in the influential 2025 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. This consistent high-level recognition solidifies Boracay’s claim as the World’s Best Beach.
