
Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan- – The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Boracay (PCCI-Boracay) took part in a recent online emergency coordination meeting focused on the ongoing energy situation, fuel price movements, and Holy Week preparedness in Malay and Boracay. The meeting was spearheaded by the Malay Disaster Risks Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC).
During the discussion, key updates and concerns were shared with the participation of PCCI-Boracay Vice President Mark Santiago and Director Wesley van der Voort, alongside stakeholders from various sectors working together to address the possible impact of the current energy and fuel challenges on the community.
The meeting covered important matters such as supply monitoring, transport and utility concerns, emergency response readiness, public safety measures, and operational adjustments that may affect both residents and visitors during the Holy Week season.
Preparedness efforts were also emphasized, including coordinated deployment, security monitoring, health response initiatives, and continuous situational reporting to help ensure the safety, stability, and smooth operations of the island.
