
Iloilo City- A total of 251 students from Western Visayas have successfully qualified for the 2026 Department of Science and Technology–Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) Undergraduate Scholarship Program. The results were officially released on May 30, 2026, following the highly competitive national qualifying examination conducted on February 21 and 22.
During the live broadcast of the results, DOST-SEI Director Dr. Jayeel S. Cornelio welcomed the new batch of science and technology (S&T) scholars.
“Ang kagandahan sa pagiging scholar is that you become part of not just a community of amazing, intelligent, and highly driven Filipino students. Pero ang mas maganda sa pagiging bahagi ng ating scholars community is that you have every opportunity to be part of our various initiatives across the country,” Director Cornelio said.

Under the scholarship program, scholars will receive the following benefits throughout their S&T degree program:
• Monthly living allowance of P8,000
• Tuition and other school fee subsidies of up to P40,000 per year
• Learning materials and/or connectivity allowance of P10,000 per year
• Clothing allowance of P1,000 for first-year scholars only
• Transportation subsidies for scholars studying outside their home province
• Thesis allowance of P10,000
• Group health and accident insurance
• Research dissemination grant of up to P50,000
To avail the scholarship, qualifiers must enroll in any of the DOST-SEI priority fields of study at recognized State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) or private higher education institutions nationwide. The complete list of priority S&T programs is available at science-scholarships.ph.
The qualifiers will receive their Notice of Award, scholarship orientation schedule, and other important instructions will be sent through the qualifiers’ email addresses. Meanwhile, potential qualifiers will also be notified of the documents they need to submit for revalidation.
The scholarship award will take effect in the first semester of Academic Year 2026–2027.
