Malay Tourism Leaders Honored as Ambassadors of the Year; Hennan Also Received Hotel Excellence Award

Manila- Malay Municipal Mayor Hon. Frolibar S. Bautista and Dr. Felix G. Delos Santos Jr., Chief Tourism Operations Officer of the Municipality of Malay, were recognized for their contributions to tourism development during the 3rd Ambassador of the Year Awards held on August 7, 2026, at Novotel Manila Araneta City.
Mayor Bautista was conferred the Malay-Boracay Ambassador of the Year Award, while Dr. Delos Santos received the LGU-Tourism Ambassador of the Year Award, highlighting their leadership and dedication to promoting sustainable tourism and strengthening Malay and Boracay as premier tourism destinations.
The awards were presented in conjunction with the 4th Travel Sale Expo Launching and 9th Global Travel Exchange Roadshow, organized by the Global Tourism Business Association (GTBA) in partnership with OneKlik Events. The event recognized individuals, local government leaders, and tourism organizations for their significant contributions to tourism development and industry excellence.
The recognition for Mayor Bautista highlights his commitment to advancing sustainable tourism and strengthening the Municipality of Malay’s position as one of the country’s leading tourism destinations. Under his leadership, the local government continues to pursue programs and initiatives focused on responsible tourism, environmental stewardship, stakeholder collaboration, and inclusive community development.
Meanwhile, the LGU-Tourism Ambassador of the Year Award recognizes Dr. Felix G. Delos Santos Jr. for his leadership and dedication in advancing tourism programs and initiatives in Malay, fostering cooperation among tourism stakeholders, and promoting Malay and Boracay as globally competitive and sustainable destinations.
Due to weather-related travel conditions, Mayor Bautista and Dr. Delos Santos were unable to personally attend the ceremony. Their awards were received on their behalf by Dindo Miguel Martin F. Salazar, Chairman of the Boracay Foundation, Inc. (BFI).
Salazar was likewise recognized during the event, receiving the Excellence on Hotel Chain Award representing Hennan Hotel, adding another distinction for Boracay’s hospitality sector and highlighting the important contribution of the island’s hotel industry to tourism development.
The recognition of Hennan Hotel underscores the continuing role of established hospitality establishments in providing quality accommodation and tourism services while contributing to Boracay’s reputation as a leading international destination.
The Municipality of Malay expressed its sincere appreciation to the Global Tourism Business Association (GTBA) and OneKlik Events for the meaningful recognitions.
