Hijos Tours Expands Heritage Tourism Reach in Japan, South Korea

San Pablo, Laguna — Hijos Tours by CARD MRI is expanding its reach across Asia, particularly in Japan and South Korea, as it strengthens its advocacy for meaningful and heritage-based travel.

The tourism arm of CARD MRI is promoting heritage tours that allow Filipino travelers to discover not only popular destinations but also the history, culture, traditions and stories behind them.
Among the destinations being promoted are Unnan and Gifu City in Japan, where travelers can experience local heritage and cultural attractions beyond the country’s usual tourist destinations.

Raffy Antes of Hijos Tours said the organization is advancing its concept of “Lakbay na May Saysay,” encouraging travelers to make their journeys more meaningful by connecting with local communities, culture and heritage.

“Lakbay na May Saysay” reflects Hijos Tours’ effort to position travel as more than sightseeing—giving tourists opportunities to learn, appreciate local traditions and create deeper connections with the destinations they visit,’Antes told the Boracay Island News Network

The Hijos Tours has collaborated with NPO organization in Japan to boosts their advocacy.

Hijos Tours is part of the growing network of community-based institutions established under CARD MRI, which was founded by Dr. Jaime Aristotle Alip. The organization has since expanded into a network of about 40 community-based institutions, including CARD Bank and Hijos Tours.

Through its expansion into Japan, South Korea and other Asian destinations, Hijos Tours aims to provide Filipino travelers with new opportunities to explore heritage sites while supporting cultural appreciation and community-based tourism.

The initiative also highlights how Philippine tourism enterprises can build international partnerships while bringing a distinctly Filipino approach to meaningful travel.

With its “Lakbay na May Saysay” advocacy, Hijos Tours seeks to make every journey an opportunity to discover, understand and value the culture and heritage of the places Filipino travelers visit.
