AFRC in Boracay

Boracay Island- The Commander of Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), Major General Elpidio Talja PAF, together with his team visited Boracay Island from June 14 to 17, 2024.

As part of the four-day visit to the powdery white sand island, AFRC conducted an Assembly Test for the Boracay Air Force reservists. The activity is held annually to muster the required number of personnel that may be able to respond to any actual call for deployment. A total of 65 reservists have reported and answered the call for assembly.

Major Gen Talja led the donning of ranks ceremony last June 16 and pinned new ranks to three newly promoted reserve officers. He also awarded Certificates of Recognition to the reservists of 52nd Air Force Group Reserve and 525th Air Police Squadron Reserve in recognition of their exemplary service and dedication.

Maj Alben Natividad PAFR assumed command of the 52nd Air Force Group Reserve in an Assumption Ceremony at La Carmela de Boracay Convention Hall. Major Gen Talja presided over the ceremony as 52nd AFGR members, stakeholders, family and friends gathered to witness the momentous occasion.

 

The activities and ceremonies were also witnessed by Col Arthur Balunes PAF, C3; Col Alvin Sevilla PAF, CO of 5th ARCen; LTC Jose Luis del Rosario, C1; Maj June Endaya PAF, OFM, Maj Luzthelta Ravelo PAF, C7; Cpt Shahani Ballares PAF, C8; Cpt Mae Ann Michelle Villagomez, PAF, JAGS; Maj Matt Palabrica PAFR, Deputy Commander of 52nd AFGR, CENRO-Boracay Joannette Opeda and other stakeholders of Boracay.
