Akeanon stars in an action film co-produced by Alden Richards

Manila – An Akeanon from Makato, Aklan, has been cast in an action film co-produced by the famed celebrity Alden Richards.

Tommie Mopia, said that he has a guest appearance in a featured scene in the movie ‘Big Tiger.’

“I’m incredibly honored to be part of a Hollywood production like Big Tiger, sharing the screen with Alden Richards and respected international actors. I’m especially proud that this film was shot in the Philippines, bringing global attention to Filipino talent and locations. I’m excited for audiences to experience this film.”

Mopia said he has been personally invited by one of the film’s producers to participate in the project. His involvement includes a close-up encounter scene with Alden Richards, marking a meaningful on-screen collaboration within this global production.

Tommie also proudly highlights that the film was shot in the Philippines, showcasing the country’s cinematic locations, talent, and production capabilities on an international stage. Being part of a Hollywood film filmed on Philippine soil is a moment of pride and a testament to the growing global recognition of Filipino creatives and destinations.

In a report of GMA News Online, Alden Richards dubbed as Asia’s multi-media star  announced a massive career milestone for him as he will not only star as the primary antagonist for the first time in the Hollywood action film Big Tiger, but he is also serving as one of the film’s producers.

In his role as producer, he highlighted his thrill at showcasing the Philippines to a worldwide audience. He believes it is the perfect time for the country’s beauty to be seen globally and shared his pride in the team working on the project.

“I think it’s high time for the Philippines to also be shown in a film that would be released globally. We have so much beauty in the country and I’m just so proud of how the movie turned out, and of course, these very talented people I was able to work with,” Alden said.

He also shared that taking on the role of producer has opened his eyes to new learning opportunities, extending beyond acting to the intricate work that brings a story to life behind the camera.

Furthermore, Alden revealed that this project marks his very first time portraying a villain.

‘Big Tiger’ is scheduled for nationwide and Hollywood release in early 2026, and is expected to deliver a high-impact action story with global appeal.
