GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite—Bureau of Immigration (BI) operatives arrested three Korean nationals found to be working illegally in a private resort in Cavite.

The operation was conducted in line with President Ferdinand ‘Bong Bong’ Marcos Jr.’s drive to ensure the strict implementation laws against illegal aliens.

BI intelligence division Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. shared that the trio were arrested last May 22 in resort inside a subdivision in General Trias, Cavite.

The three were identified as Oh Hyunsik, 51; Kim Haeyoung, 48; and Kim Seoyeong, 45. They were arrested in coordination with the Philippine Navy and the Philippine National Police after the BI received information about the presence of an illegal alien in the area.

BI records confirmed that they have indeed been working without the proper permits and visas, in violation of Philippine immigration laws.

Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado lauded the arrest, saying that foreign nationals are expected to follow laws while in the country.

“We thank our counterparts for their assistance in this operation,” said Viado. “Our close coordination with our partners in law enforcement plays a vital role in the swift and effective apprehension of illegal aliens. Collaborative efforts such as this demonstrate our shared commitment to upholding the law and maintaining national security,” he added.

The trio will remain in the BI’s facility inside Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig pending deportation proceedings. #
