CARD RBI marks its 14 years of empowering Filipino families

Sta. Cruz, Laguna-CARD MRI Rizal Bank, Inc. (CARD RBI), a microfinance-oriented rural bank, celebrated its 14 years of service on October 12, 2025, at the Cultural Center of Laguna, Provincial Capitol, Sta.
Cruz, Laguna. The event highlighted its integration of artificial intelligence and digital banking
tools to reach unbanked communities.

The celebration was anchored on the theme, “Years of empowerment: Scaling impact through artificial intelligence (AI), digitalizing the unbanked, and sustaining a poverty-free tomorrow.” “Marking our 14th anniversary is a reminder of how technology and digitization help us drive financial inclusion,” said CARD RBI President Lyneth Derequito. “This also marks another significant step toward making banking more accessible, convenient, and innovative for our clients.”

CARD RBI provides financial services tailored to microentrepreneurs and small business owners, including microfinance loans and savings products. The bank also supports community development programs in education, healthcare, livelihoods, disaster response, and environmental management.

During the event, CARD RBI officially launched the updated version of its mobile banking application, konek2CARD, featuring facial recognition, biometric authentication, real-time transaction alerts, faster processing speeds, and other features that make banking more convenient.

As part of the event, the bank also held its “Usapang CARD Sulit” session and the CARD RBI All-in-One Caravan, bringing financial literacy sessions and essential community support services directly to clients.

CARD MRI Managing Director Aristeo Dequito, CARD RBI President and CEO Lyneth Derequito, Executive Vice President Juliana B. De Leon, Director for IT Operations Ms. Rhea Dajao, and CARD RBI Board Member Marlene Alguire attended the anniversary, along with some CARD MRI Senior Advisers, bank officers, staff, and clients. Actor and konek2CARD brand ambassador JC Santos also attended the celebration for a client
and staff meet-and-greet.

As of September 30, 2026, CARD RBI operates 416 offices nationwide with over 2,100 staff members. The bank serves more than 979,000 clients, has disbursed over PHP14.6 billion in loans, and maintains a 99% repayment rate.
