GSIS Chief Wick Veloso Conferred BizNewsAsia Financial Management Excellence Award

Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) President and General Manager Wick Veloso was conferred the Financial Management Excellence Award at BizNewsAsia’s 24th Anniversary Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, November 25.

Veloso was cited for leading the GSIS to become the country’s most profitable government-owned and controlled corporation, posting strong gains in financial stability, asset growth, revenues, and member benefit enhancements under his term.

The award also recognized his fiscal management initiatives, including cost-efficiency measures and reforms that strengthened the pension fund’s resilience.

First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos led the conferment of the Golden Excellence Trophies to selected awardees recognized for management performance, innovation, and contributions to national development.

Other awardees include First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos (Governance Excellence), Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto (Public Service Excellence), San Miguel Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ramon Ang (Visionary Management), BDO Unibank Chair and SM Investments Corporation Vice Chair Teresita Sy (Visionary Management), and GMA Network President and CEO Gilberto Duavit Jr. (Management Excellence).

The annual BizNewsAsia awards gather key figures from government and business and are widely regarded as among the most credible recognitions in the Philippine corporate sector.
