KALIBO, Aklan- While Halloween is celebrated in many ways across different cultures and beliefs, one thing remains sharedโthe joy it brings to children.
For some, Trick or Treat is marked by costumes and parties. For others, simple happiness comes from receiving a sweet treat. With this in mind, the Movement of Gratitude decided to celebrate Halloween a little differently this year. Instead of organizing a costume party, the group brought the treats to the children.
No tricks, no fancy costumes; just the pure magic of giving. On the late afternoon of October 30, despite the heavy downpour earlier in the day, volunteers gathered at the Kalibo Pastrana Park, under the Bagong Kalibo tent that sheltered their Magic Giving improvised booth. The table was filled with an assortment of sweetsโlollipops, jelly ace, candies, and gummiesโall packed in Halloween-themed holders and candy pouches.
