Man Nabbed for Three Violations
February 14, 2022, Makato, Aklan- A man has been arrested and charged for Reckless Imprudence Resulting (RIR) in Damage to Property, Illegal Use of Insignia and Uniform under Article 179 of the Revised Penal Code as ammended, and Violation of Omnibus Election Code in relation to COMELEC Resolution No. 10728 after being involved in a vehicular accident.
A telephone call was received 6:38 in the morning from a concerned citizen that a vehicular accident transpired at the intersection of the National Highway of Makato and Diversion Road going to Lezo. Immediately, personnel of this station responded to the area of accident. Upon arrival, the suspect approached and introduced himself as CPL RICKY BARRIENTOS, assigned at 2nd Division, 59IB of the Philippine Army, while illegally wearing an upper FSU of the PNP.
He also couldn’t present his driver’s license but instead presented two IDs from Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). Moreover, it was found out that it was the suspect who bumped his motorcycle to the car of the victim that resulted to dents and damages.
During the incidental search, recovered from his possession and custody was 1 jungle knife that violates the Omnibus Election Code in relation to COMELEC Resolution No. 10728. Further investigation also revealed that the suspect is neither a member of PNP nor of AFP.
