NEA commends national Rodeo ultimate showdown of linemen
Lezo, Aklan – The National Electrification Administration (NEA) has commended the successful holding of this year’s Rodeo Ultimate Showdown.
The said competition is patterned in the United States of America (USA) where linemen coming from the different national electric cooperatives tests their skills and safety practices especially during emergencies.
The Rodeo showdown is being organized by the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association.
The showdown held at the linemen training facility of the Aklan Electric Cooperative in Lezo, Aklan Thursday morning.
A separate fellowship night were also held at the La Carmela Resort in Boracay after the showdown.
The champion of this year’s rodeo were the Luzon, followed by Visayas second, and Mindanao third.
Among the categories competed by the region’s finest cooperatives were wood pole erection, emergency response and first aid, pole dressing and undressing, knot tying including the conductor riding.
