AKLAN (PIA) โ€” President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. is expected to visit Aklan Province on Monday, July 14, to lead the groundbreaking ceremony for the Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) of the Godofredo P. Ramos Airport or the Caticlan Airport.

Ramon S. Ang, chair and chief executive officer of San Miguel Corporation (SMC) โ€“ a majority stakeholder of the Caticlan Airport โ€“ is also expected to join President Marcos Jr. at the event.

Once completed, the PTB is expected to expand the airportโ€™s capacity of up to seven million passengers annually, enhancing passenger experience and further increase tourist arrivals, being the gateway to world-famous Boracay Island.

It will be operated by Trans Aire Development Holdings Corp. (TADHC), a subsidiary of SMC.

The construction contract and design were awarded in November 2024 to Megawide Construction Corp.

Late last month, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said that SMC committed to finishing the new passenger terminal before PBBM steps down in 2028. (EAD-SQP/PIA Aklan)
