KALIBO, Aklan—Preparations are now underway for the first Tamagos Cup National Tennis Championship to be hosted in this capital, Ati-atihan town.
Noel Tamagos Jr, the event organizer representing the Tamagos, in an interview with the Boracay Island News Network said that they are expecting hundreds of tennis enthusiasts from all over the country to come to Kalibo to participate in the said event.
It will be staged at Kalibo Tennis Court 1 at the Provincial Capitol on May 2–6, 2024.
“We are excited about the said event, as we expect some of the tennis players and their families will also have a chance to visit tourism sites in Kalibo and on Boracay Island,” he said.
The said event is sponsored by the Palawan Pawnshop, Dunlop, Universal Tennis, and Slazenger.
Tamagos is a known confectionary brand in the province of Aklan, famous for its ‘ampaw’, a local rice cake, and cashew nuts, among others.
