Around 12,200 Aklanon rice farmers received the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF)-Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA) payouts amounting to ₱50M in five Municipalities of Ibajay, New Washington, Libacao annd Balete.
The last stop was in Balete for 2,267 rice farmers with ₱11.335M.
According to Remelyn Recoter, the regional executive director of the Department of Agriculture-Western Visayas RFFA props up Aklan’s economy for the past 20 days with a total of ₱159.3M in circulation either to procure production inputs, food and other domestic consumption by 31,859 Aklanon rice farmers.
Simultaneous, was also the payout in Negros Occidental for the Municipalities of Ilog, Candoni and Hinigaran with a total of 5,546 farmers.
“I also met Libacao Vice Mayor Vincent Navarosa .W@e went to the highlands of Libacao to monitor the PRDP FMR with Bridges Project and the prospect of another project from Manika to Dalagsaan for Abaca and highland vegetables,” said Recoter.
Passed by NIA project in Sigcay that irrigates both sides through Sigcay for Banga, Kalibo, New Washington rice areas and the other side in Kinalangay for Malinao, Lezo, Makato and Numancia area.
