Store Owner falls victim to counterfeit bill

A storeowner in Malinao, Aklan has fallen victim to counterfeiting after being paid a fake P1,000 bill.

In a report by Marivic Y. Ilin for Brigada News FM Kalibo, Mr. Demetrio “Emet” Ibao, 53 yrs old and a resident of Brgy. San Dimas, Malinao, Aklan relayed that an unidentified person bought something from his store with the fake bill.

Unaware it was fake, he also used the bill to pay for cigarettes which he sells.

The fake P1,000 bill is now under the custody of the San Dimas Barangay Council to serve as an awareness for other residents as well as for people outside the barangay.

Ibao also added that he had already been robbed of P23,000 cash prior to the incident.
