Stranded tourists, residents forcedly evacuated in Boracay

BORACAY Island, Malay Aklan- The Malay PNP has forcedly evacuated stranded tourists and residents in this resort island as PAGASA placed the Western District of Aklan under typhoon signal No. 2.
The Malay police  said that they  has also advised those who are in two evacuation centers on this resort island not to return to their homes. A
ccording to PAGASA, signal no. 2 is being hoisted in the Aklan towns of Buruanga, Malay, Nabas, Ibajay, Tangalan, Makato, Numancia, and Lezo.
“As typhoon Paeng continues to batter Aklan and other provinces, the Malay PNP advises evacuees not to return home,” the Malay PNP said
In an advisory, Lieutenant Sergeant John Manuel Alip, station commander of the Philippine Coast Guard-Aklan, said that he issued an advisory temporarily suspending boat operations for passengers going to and from Boracay.
“The operation of passenger motorboats is temporarily suspended due to unfavorable weather conditions but will resume immediately as soon as the weather permits,” he said.

He also suspended the operations of sea sports and roro vessels in Caticlan.
