Suspect in Murder Case Arrested in Libacao

Libacao, Aklan — Authorities successfully served a warrant of arrest against a murder suspect identified as alias “Batuk Agudis”, in a remote area of Sitio Taroytoy, Barangay Manika, Libacao, Aklan.

The accused, a 65-year-old male laborer and resident of Sitio Hamindang, Barangay Dalagsaan, Libacao, was apprehended by personnel of the Libacao Municipal Police Station (MPS) during a coordinated law enforcement operation. The arrest took place approximately 47 kilometers from the Libacao MPS, within a geographically isolated and disadvantaged area (GIDA).

The operation was led by Police Captain Larry John A. Vidal, Officer-in-Charge of Libacao MPS, who oversaw the implementation of the warrant.

The warrant of arrest was issued in connection with a charge of Murder under Article 248 of the Revised Penal Code, docketed as Criminal Case No. 10-68231. It was signed by Honorable Judge Guilljie D. Delfin-Lim of the Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 22, Iloilo City. The court has recommended no bail for the accused, indicating the gravity of the offense.

Following his arrest, the suspect was taken into police custody for proper documentation and processing prior to turnover to the issuing court.
