Vlogger Arrested for Human Trafficking of Two Minors

Boracay Island- PNP Malay arrested a male suspect in an intelligence driven entrapment operation on Tuesday afternoon (September 3, 2024). The suspect recruited and hired minors as prostitutes and engaged them in sexual intercourse while recording a video.
Information gathering unveiled that the suspect has been selling sex videos on popular online dating applications and various social media platforms which compelled PNP Malay to initiate the said police intervention operation in order to put an end to such a despicable crime.
Malay Chief of Police PLTCOL MAR JOSEPH B RAVELO devised the sting operation and was executed by the Intelligence Operatives of Malay MPS led by PCPT ROMNICK CLEINE TAYAWA, elements of PCP5 led by PCPT CHARLIE C BANGLAGAN, elements of WCPD led by PLT HONEYLYN R MAGALLANES, personnel from the MSWDO-Malay and elected Barangay Officials of Barangay Motag, Malay Aklan.
Two male minors aging 14 and 15 were rescued who are believed to be victims of Human Trafficking and were sexually exploited for monetary gain. PLTCOL RAVELO identified the suspect as a 34-year-old male, vlogger, and a resident of Brgy Yapak, Malay, Aklan.
Recovered pieces of evidence are (1) unit Samsung Galaxy cellphone, one (1) piece transparent self-sealed plastic containing cash amounting to Php 396, one (1) piece cellphone charger with cord, six (6) pieces assorted IDs, one (1) knife, one (1) piece scissor, two (2) pieces trust condoms and one (1) brown sling leather bag.
The suspect was detained at Malay Municipal Police Station and was filed with appropriate charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 9208 โ€œAnti-Trafficking in Persons Actโ€ as amended by RA 11862, or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022 which is a non-bailable offense and which imposes 40 years imprisonment.
PLTCOL RAVELO, COP Malay, assures those who are profiting in the same illicit manner that it is just a matter of time that they will suffer the same fate as the suspect. He further added that the Local Government Unit headed by Hon. Mayor FROLIBAR S BAUTISTA fully backs the law enforcement unit of the municipality hence, there will be no safe haven for law breakers within the municipality of Malay.
