The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) is celebrating the artistry and craftsmanship of men in the weaving industry through the #WeMenWeave campaign!
If you are a Filipino male weaver or know someone who is, we invite you to showcase your skills and share your story. Join us in highlighting the invaluable role of men in the art and industry of weaving.
How to Join:
1. Record a video introducing yourself, your community, your location, and the fabric that you weave.
2. Show us how you weave.
3. Answer the question: “Ano ang papel ng kalalakihan sa sining at industriya ng paghahabi?”
Submit your entry via email to ptri.tips@ptri.dost.gov.ph with your complete name and location.Video Requirements:
Orientation: Portrait (vertical)
Duration: 1-2 minutes
Prizes:
Three (3) winners will receive special gifts
(1) winner of the People’s Choice Award!
Youngest Male Weaver
The Community with the Most Number of Weavers
Male weavers can still register even if they do not participate in the video contest. This will help us map all the male weavers in the country. Join us in this campaign!
