𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐨

Iloilo – Authorities took into custody a minor in connection with six (6) counts of Rape by Carnal Knowledge under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1 of RPC, as amended by RA 8353, and further amended by RA 11646 at around 11:17 AM on February 7, 2026, in Brgy. Poblacion Rizal Ilaya, Calinog, Iloilo.

The minor was a 17-year-old male, single, a resident of Calinog, Iloilo and the region’s top 2 most wanted individual.

He was taken into custody by the elements of Calinog Municipal Police Station together with Iloilo Police Provincial Office – Provincial Intelligence Unit, and 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by the RTC, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 76, Janiuay, Iloilo, on November 11, 2024, with no bail bond recommended.

Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) Regional Director, POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL JOSEFINO D LIGAN, commended the operating units for the successful taking into custody of a minor.

“The PRO6 reaffirms its commitment to public safety and the rule of law while ensuring strict observance of due process and juvenile justice laws. The operation was carried out with full respect for the child’s rights and welfare, in coordination with concerned agencies, as we remain firm in law enforcement while upholding compassion, responsibility, and respect for human dignity,” said PBGEN LIGAN.

The said minor was turned over to the custody of DSWD Calinog for proper disposition.
