Kalibo, Aklan – February 9, 2026 – What was once a lengthy process of obtaining annotated PSA copies of civil registry documents is now faster and more efficient following the launch of the Premium Annotation Service at the PSA-Aklan Civil Registry System (CRS) outlet on 29 January 2026.

The Premium Annotation Service is an upgraded and expedited method of processing annotations on birth, marriage, and death certificates that have undergone corrections under Republic Act (RA) No. 9048, which covers clerical or typographical errors and changes of first name, as well as RA No. 10172, which allows administrative corrections of date of birth and sex.

Also covered under this decentralized processing system are supplemental reports for
records with missing entries, court decrees, legitimations, and other legal instruments
requiring annotation.

According to Engr. Antonet Catubuan, Chief Statistical Specialist, the said service is another innovation by the PSA in support of the government’s Ease of Doing Business initiative, aimed at saving clients time, especially those who urgently need corrected documents.

“Previously, such annotation was done at the Central Office, which took a considerable amount of time. With the rollout of this service, that long waiting period has now been addressed,” Catubuan said.

Through the Premium Annotation Service, clients can file their requests directly at CRS outlets, track the status of their application online, and receive annotated documents printed on Security Paper (SECPA), which they can use for both local and international transactions.

To avail of the service, applicants must secure the required documents from the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) where the correction was filed. These include the approved petition, the certificate of finality, a copy of the LCRO-annotated document, and other supporting requirements. A processing fee of ₱255 per transaction is also collected.

The processing time is targeted at within 10 working days, significantly shorter than the previous timeline.

The availability of the Premium Annotation Service at CRS outlets is part of the PSA’s ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery, streamline processes, and provide efficient, high-quality civil registration services to the public.
