
๐ฃ๐ผ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ข๐ณ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ฎ โ A timely intelligence tip from the Moro National Liberation Front community led to the successful recovery of more than โฑ7.8 million worth of smuggled cigarettes in Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat on October 13, 2025.
At about 5:00 PM, personnel of the Regional Intelligence Division 12 and Palimbang Municipal Police Station, SKPPO, in coordination with the Bureau of Customs, responded to the information relayed by the MNLF community regarding a pile of cigarette boxes believed to be smuggled and intended for transport and sale at an opportune time in the coastal area of Barangay Kraan, Palimbang.
Upon arrival, the operating team saw two unidentified male individuals guarding and arranging the said pile of cigarettes. However, upon sensing the presence of approaching police operatives, the suspects immediately fled toward different directions, leaving behind the contraband items. The team recovered 177 boxes and 50 reams of F2 Cigarettes, 19 boxes of Tabaco Cigarettes, 62 reams of Hero Cigarettes, and 50 reams of Canon Cigarettes, all with a Bureau of Customs standard value amounting to โฑ7,828,139.60.
The confiscated smuggled cigarettes were brought to Palimbang MPS for documentation and proper disposition and will be turned over to the Bureau of Customs Sub-Port in General Santos City for appropriate action.
