KALIBO, Aklan- The 4th Hinuguran it Akeanon Trade Fair, held last April 23 to 30, at the Aklan Trade Hall, Capitol Grounds, Kalibo, Aklan, concluded with resounding success— showcasing the creativity,
resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit of Aklanon micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The eight-day trade fair generated total sales of ₱25.059 million, surpassing this year’s target of
₱25 million. The total consists of ₱8.459 million in cash sales and ₱16.600 million in booked
sales. This achievement highlights the growing demand for Aklanon-made products and the
strong support from both local consumers and institutional buyers.

Compared with previous years, the 2026 total sales reflect a significant increase of ₱4.356 million
or 21.04% from ₱20.703 million recorded in 2025 and ₱18.250 million in 2024, further
demonstrating the continued growth and expanding market reach of Aklanon enterprises.

“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all visitors and Aklanons who patronized the
trade fair and supported local entrepreneurs by purchasing and promoting Aklanon-made
products. Their overwhelming support significantly contributed to the success of the activity and
further strengthened the province’s commitment in sustaining local industries and livelihoods. This
success also serves as a good challenge for our Aklanon MSMEs to continue their efforts in
improving their products and expanding their market,” says DTI 6 OIC-Asst. Regional Director
and concurrent DTI-Aklan Provincial Director Romel L. Amihan.

Showcasing the best of Aklanon products—the Aklan piña, handicrafts, home decors, food
products and other innovative creations, the Hinuguran It Akeanon Trade Fair continues to serve
as a platform for MSMEs to expand their networks, increase visibility, and promote sustainable
economic growth in the province.

The outstanding results of this year’s fair reaffirms the big potential of homegrown local enterprises and promoting their products to both local and institutional markets.
