
Malay, Aklan- The Information and Communications Technology Management Service (ICTMS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has officially launched its 5-day workshop on “Strengthening Cybersecurity Through Network Penetration Testing Guidelines Development,” which began on March 17, 2025, in Malay, Aklan.
The workshop, running until March 21, 2025, focuses on the cybersecurity strategy known as “penetration testing.” This practice involves security experts simulating cyberattacks to detect vulnerabilities in a systemβs defenses, aiding DSWD in strengthening its security posture.
Participants in the training include staff from the Regional Information and Communications Technology Management Section (RICTMS) from various DSWD field offices. The workshop aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to identify potential vulnerabilities within the agencyβs systems and proactively address security gaps.
Dean Armada, Founder and Chief Architect of Armada Innovation Laboratory Corp., led a session discussing the concept, phases, and implementation guidelines of “penetration testing”, providing valuable insights into improving cybersecurity efforts within the agency./jam
