DTI Western Visayas and ASU launch Hiblatek Mobile App

Iloilo City- The Department of Trade and Industry Region VI in partnership with the Aklan State University successfully launched the HiblaTek mobile application last March 17, 2025, at ASU Cafeteria, Banga, Aklan.
DTI Aklan Provincial Director Romel L. Amihan opened the program and welcomed the attendees. He also shared his excitement on the launching because of the advantages of the mobile application to the production of local weavers and the protection of general consumers.
In her inspirational message, DTI Regional Director Rachel N. Nufable extended her warm congratulations to the ASU for this milestone and encouraged them to produce more innovative projects assisting Aklanon micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through digitalization. Meanwhile, Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin, SUC President III of the Aklan State University, congratulated their Research and Development Services Team for the creation of the mobile application. He shared that their commitment and efforts for the project have paid off because of the positive impact that it will bring to Aklanons.
Also present during the launching activity were the Aklan Piña Mantra, Inc. and other university officials and staff of the ASU.
The HiblaTek mobile application was designed to analyze natural fibers in the fabric. By taking a photo of the piña fabric, it calculates the warp and weft thread density per square inch. It identifies the classification of the fabric and whether it conforms to the set standard of the Aklan piña fabric.
It is set to be available via Google Play Store for Android users to download and use.
