KALIBO, AKLAN – The spirit of service and compassion shone brightly as the Kiwanis Club of Kalibo Ati-Atihan successfully carried out another impactful medical mission in Barangay Bakhaw Sur. This initiative, dedicated to providing essential healthcare services to the community, reaffirmed the club’s unwavering commitment to uplifting lives through accessible and quality medical assistance.
The event, which catered to more than 100 individuals, was a collaborative effort fueled by the generosity and dedication of local leaders, healthcare professionals, and volunteers. The Kiwanis Club extends its deepest gratitude to Hon. Vice Mayor Cynthia Dela Cruz, whose steadfast support has been instrumental in making these missions possible. Her advocacy for community health continues to inspire efforts toward sustainable and inclusive healthcare programs.

At the heart of the mission were two exceptional medical practitioners—Dr. Daniel Yzazel I. Abayon and Dr. Averose Yeban-Tang, Rural Health Physician—who selflessly devoted their time and expertise to ensuring that every patient received proper medical attention. Their commitment to service reflects the true essence of humanitarian care.
The event would not have been a success without the dedicated Municipal Health Office (MHO) Nurses, led by the dynamic Kalibo Mayor Juris Sucro, as well as the diligent health workers of Bakhaw Sur. Their hands-on assistance played a crucial role in streamlining medical consultations and distributing essential care to beneficiaries.

Beyond medical care, the mission was made even more special through the generosity of Bread & Butter Bakeshop and Aklan Food Chain Cooperative, whose sponsorship provided snacks and refreshments for volunteers and patients. Their kindness and support not only nourished those present but also added warmth and comfort to the event, making the experience even more meaningful for everyone involved.
The Kiwanis Club of Kalibo Ati-Atihan remains committed to its mission of service and looks forward to organizing more medical missions in the coming months. The club welcomes partnerships and collaborations with individuals and organizations eager to make a lasting impact on the lives of the people of Kalibo.
Through compassion, kindness, and teamwork, the club continues to “serve the children of the world” and ensure that healthcare reaches those who need it most.
