
Boracay Island- The DTI Aklan Provincial Office, under the Shared Service Facility (SSF) Project, successfully launched the Enhanced Sewing Facility for Wearables in Boracay earlier today, June 30, in Balabag, Malay, Aklan.
It was attended by the representatives from the different partners and offices who contributed to this milestone. Inspirational messages were delivered by Sangguniang Bayan Members Apio Casidsid, Grengo Gelito, Vicky Aguirre, Brgy. Captain of Balabag Jason Talapian, Mr. Virgilio Sacdalan of Boracay Foundation Inc. and Mr. Ryan Alba.
The project’s Cooperator, the Boracay Women Producers Cooperative, represented by their Chairperson, Ma. Ninfa Desiree T. Segovia warmly welcomed the guests. Meanwhile, DTI Aklan Provincial Director Romel L. Amihan shared the overview of the SSF Project.
Various equipment and machine were awarded to the Cooperator including highspeed sewing machines, edging machines, and laptops. This aims to provide additional machineries to the group in order to further improve their production quality as they cater more clients.
The Shared Service Facilities (SSF) program, a flagship initiative of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), aims to improve the productivity and efficiency of small businesses in the Philippines by providing them access to better technology and equipment.
