Tagbilaran -Love is in the air as ASEAN delegates from the finance and banking sector spent their Valentine’s Day in a culinary heritage journey hosted by the Department of Tourism (DOT) in Bohol on Saturday (Feb. 14).

The tour’s first stop at the National Museum of the Philippines – Bohol immersed the delegates in the rich history of the province as they went through various exhibits of artifacts, including one for Asin Tibuok— the province’s famed artisanal sea salt.

The delegates were also introduced to the life and works of Boholano national artist, Napoleon Abueva, who is popularly known as the “Father of Modern Philippine Sculpture.”

As a tribute to Abueva’s artistry, the museum’s Pagpauli (𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨) Gallery presents an extensive collection of the sculptor’s key pieces, portrait busts, designed furniture, and personal tools, among others.

This tour was held in conjunction with the high-level meetings of finance officials across Southeast Asia, as part of the Philippines’ hosting of ASEAN Summit 2026.

It is one of the many immersive experiences organized by the DOT as the lead agency of the Committee on Hospitality, Tours, Site Enhancements, and Events, showcasing the country’s best destinations to key members of the international community.
