Davao City- Valentine’s Day – touted to be a day for lovers – is over. But to those who attended the once-a-year event at the Grand Regal Hotel in Lanang, Davao City may be still remembering what transpired last February 14.

The event, aptly named “Love under glass and stars,” was indeed just that – and even more. Picture enjoying a splendid time beneath the stars. There were those who opted to immerse themselves in a house of glass. The lovers were elevating to a realm where only the two of them mattered, despite the presence of others engaged in similar activities.

Laughter, smiles, and tender whispers filled the air. They exchanged glances, shared a brief kiss, held hands atop the table, and uttered those words that, although cliched, never fail to quicken the heartbeat and shorten the breath.

The hue of the night was red, widely acknowledged as a symbol of love, embodying passion, desire, and romance. Red is frequently linked to intense emotions, including love and attraction. It stirs feelings of passion and excitement, making it a favored choice for romantic events such as Valentine’s Day.

There were no candle lights, yet the dinner was both sumptuous and splendid. The adage that the way to a man’s heart – and to a woman’s as well – is through the stomach holds true. The chef at Grand Regal accomplished this perfectly – the guests were enjoying themselves immensely as it was an open buffet.

Domini Sebastian del Rosario – a name that is distinctly Italian paired with a Spanish surname – consistently captivated the audience with his unexpected games. Picture this: he asked the guests to share their marriage licenses, intimate love songs, the duration of their marriages, and whether they were wearing their wedding rings.

However, the most astonishing surprise of the evening was the marriage proposal – not just for one couple, but for two. If those moments did not evoke feelings of excitement from the audience, then they must not be lovers at all.

Love is incomplete without music. Those unforgettable moments became even more enchanting as the Febie Band performed their ballad music. The selection of songs illuminated the night with sparks of passion and tranquility within the arena filled with couples.

Although Valentine’s Day has passed, love remains palpable in the atmosphere. After all, February is recognized as the month for lovers. This sentiment may persist throughout the year, as love is ever-present, not limited to a single night or month, but enduring throughout the year. Indeed, it lasts for eternity!—###
