Caticlan, Malau- Security Screening Officers (SSOs) of the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) successfully recovered and returned a left-behind trolley bag belonging to a Filipino balikbayan passenger from Australia, who was bound for Cebu via Philippine Airlines flight number PR 2403, at Caticlan Airport on April 14, 2026.

Based on the report, while performing his routine screening duties, SSO Garry Gumboc discovered a medium-sized trolley bag left unattended at the output roller of an X-ray machine and immediately reported the matter to Shift-in-Charge SSO Shirley Cabanus.

Acting swiftly, Cabanus coordinated with airport authorities to initiate a public announcement through the airport paging system in an effort to locate the owner of the baggage.

Shortly thereafter, a passenger approached OTS personnel to inquire about a left-behind bag. Through standard ownership verification procedures, the passenger was confirmed as the rightful owner, and the bag was promptly returned intact.

The Filipino balikbayan passenger expressed her gratitude to SSO Gumboc and the entire OTS team for their honesty and professionalism in recovering her belongings.

This incident highlights the agency’s continued commitment to upholding integrity and excellence in public service, in line with President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr.’s directive to promote transparency, accountability, and public trust, and to ensure that all Philippine airports remain safe, secure, and reliable gateways for travelers.
