PAMANA Team Conducts Courtesy Visits to LGUs in Aklan and Capiz

Ibajay, Aklan- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to strengthen coordination and partnership with local government units (LGUs) through the ongoing conduct of courtesy visits to selected municipalities and provincial LGUs in Western Visayas.

As part of the continuing information and coordination efforts for the PAMANA Community-Driven Peace and Development (CDPD) Program, the PAMANA team conducted courtesy visits to the Municipal Local Government Units of Libacao, Ibajay, and Malay in the Province of Aklan, as well as courtesy visits to the Provincial Local Government Units of Aklan and Capiz.

The activity aims to provide LGU officials and concerned stakeholders with updates and relevant information on the implementation of the PAMANA CDPD Program under the DSWD, including program interventions, implementation processes, and other matters related to the program’s continuing partnership with local governments.

The courtesy visits also serve as an avenue to strengthen coordination and collaboration between the DSWD and LGUs, promote a better understanding of the PAMANA CDPD Program, and facilitate the exchange of information on the needs, concerns, and development priorities of beneficiary communities.

The activity was led by John Christian L. Liaver, PDO II/Section Head, together with Maria Theresa C. Cerbas, PDO III, and the Peace Coordinating Team (PCT) headed by Area Coordinator Felix Guillaran.

Through these continuing engagements, the PAMANA team reinforces its commitment to working closely with LGUs and other stakeholders in advancing community-driven and peace-responsive development initiatives in conflict-affected and vulnerable communities.
