Uniting for a Greener Tomorrow : Rotary Clubs Lead Joint Coastal Cleanup And Mangrove Planting Activity

Boracay Island- As the sun rose on October 24, 2026, a powerful display of environmental stewardship unfolded at Boracay Bakhawan Nature’s Park, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.
Demonstrating a shared commitment to environmental protection and community service, the Rotary Club of Forbes Park (D3830), Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo (D3850), and Rotary Club of Boracay Island (D3850) joined forces for a clean-up drive and mangrove planting activity aimed at strengthening the islandโs natural resilience.
โProtecting the environment is one of Rotary Internationalโs core Areas of Focus. Around the globe, Rotarians are taking action to address climate change, restore ecosystems, conserve natural resources, and foster sustainability. Mangroves, often referred to as nature’s coastal defense, play a critical role in sequestering carbon, preventing shoreline erosion, and providing vital habitats for marine life. By integrating coastal cleanup with mangrove planting, Rotary reinforces its mission to champion environmental sustainability and protect vulnerable coastal ecosystems.

โThis meaningful initiative was made possible through strong partnerships across various sectors of the community. The team appreciates the dedicated partners and volunteers who brought energy and action to the cause:

“Love becomes powerful when it moves us to act, and its greatest legacy is the lasting impact we leave on the Earth and the generations to come. As Miss Philippines Earth 2026, I am truly grateful to the Rotary Club of Forbes Park for inviting me to be part of this meaningful mangrove tree planting and clean-up drive. Together, let us turn our love for our planet into action and create a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come.” (Ms. Rina Andrea Delos Santos)
โFrom clearing coastal debris to carefully planting mangrove saplings, every step taken by the volunteers contributed directly to safeguarding the islandโs unique biodiversity and ecosystem resilience.
โCoastal environments face constant challenges from waste and climate threats, but collective action proves that positive change is always within reach. Every piece of trash collected and every mangrove planted serves as a building block for a cleaner, greener, and more resilient home. Small actions, when multiplied by a dedicated community, lead to lasting impacts.
โCollaborate. Serve. Make an Impact!
