The 18th Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Aklan, presided by Provincial Vice Governor and Regular Presiding Officer, Atty. Reynaldo M. Quimpo, commended CHERRY SAMUYA VERIC for making waves in acquiring national and world fame in the field of Fashion Designing during its 94th Regular Session on May 3, 2021.
On June 13, 2022, Hon. Jose Miguel M. Miraflores, one of the main sponsors, together with Hon. Ramon S. Gelito, Hon. Nelson D. Santamaria, Hon. Emmanuel Soviet Russia A. Dela Cruz, Hon. Jay E. Tejada, Hon. Ricardo C. Ibarreta Jr., Hon. Ciriaco T. Feliciano, presented the resolution of commendation to Veric at Astoria Current 3, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan where the Assembly of the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines (PBMLP) Region VI is being held.
Cherry Samuya Veric, who hails from Poblacion, Ibajay, Aklan, possesses admirable and exceptional finesse in his craft and workmanship. He has been making waves in the fashion industry after joining the well-loved reality TV show, Project Runway Philippines Season Two, thus, making him one of the most sought-after young designers in the Philippine fashion scene.
Veric is an outfitter of stars, socialites, and beauty queens. He has dressed Jessica Sanchez of American Idol, Angel Locsin, Ann Curtis, Bea Alonzo, Marian Rivera and many others. He also created gowns for the most beautiful Filipino women who have gained global fame, including Shamcey Supsup, Venus Raj, Megan Young, Pia Wurtzbach, Kylie Versoza, Maxine Medina, and Catriona Gray, who all wore his Piña gown creations in the Miss Universe pre-pageant in 2019.
He widely presented his collections here and abroad, particularly at the Philippine Fashion Week and Western Canada Fashion Week, and, in New York where he is a regular feature and at Howard University in the United States of America. Veric and his designs were prominently featured in several national publications and fashion magazines in the country. Socialite and media personality Tessa Valdes included his designs at a fashion exhibit held at Fashion Hall SM that included the top thirty (30) designers in the Philippines.
He was honored as one of the Top Five Haute Couture Designers in 2016 in all of Asia at a prestigious ceremony in Chongqing, China. Truly, his outstanding and exemplary performance and talent in the field of fashion designing deserves to be recognized and commended as he is an example of a hardworking Aklanon with the highest ideals of expertise and dedication to his craft and field.
