CARD MRI formally launched its 1st Panaghiusa Media Awards 2025, recognizing journalists and media institutions across the country for their role in amplifying the organizationโs work in microfinance, community development, and poverty reduction.
In his message, Founder and Chairman Emeritus Dr. Jaime Aristotle Alip underscored the weight carried by media practitioners in shaping public understanding.
โMedia is very powerful. Hindi biro ang maging isang journalist, mahirap ito,โ Alip said, noting that responsible reporting remains central to ensuring communities receive accurate and meaningful information.
The event gathered media partners from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, reflecting CARD MRIโs wide network of storytellers who help bring its programs to the public โ from livelihood support to social protection initiatives.
Recognizing Media Excellence Nationwide, the awards were divided into several categories, highlighting regional champions and longstanding partners.

Strengthening Partnerships; CARD MRI said the Panaghiusa Media Awards will be an annual platform to acknowledge journalists who demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and commitment in covering stories that often emerge from underserved and rural communities.
By honoring its media partners, the institution reaffirmed its belief that journalism plays a vital role in expanding the reach of development programs and ensuring that the stories of ordinary Filipinos โ especially those working toward financial independence โ are heard.
