Malay, AklanโAugust 19, 2024: Today marks the birthday of Reverend Father Jayvee Delos Santos, a distinguished figure in the convergence of faith and scientific research.
Fr. Jayvee, born and raised on Boracay Island, has become a beacon of inspiration in the academic and religious communities, bridging the often-perceived gap between science and religion. Currently assigned as the Human Formation Director of the Major Sems Department at Sto. Niรฑo Seminary,
Fr. Jayvee continues to influence the discourse on the integration of faith and science. He has authored two significant journal papers submitted to the International Journal of Research and Scientific Innovation (IJRSI). The first paper, titled “Conduct and Validation of an Educational Lecture Series on the Integration of Faith and Scientific Research Methodology,” was drawn from his groundbreaking lecture at Nabaoy Elementary School in Malay, Aklan, on June 4, 2024.
This lecture captivated researchers, educators, and community members, offering profound insights into the harmonious relationship between faith and empirical inquiry. The paper has already been approved for publication in the August 2024 issue of the journal, after passing a rigorous three-layer peer review process, and has been assigned the Unique Manuscript ID 11IJ08SI5054.
The second paper, “Formulating Boracay’s Blue Economy Framework: Integrating Sustainable Development and Laudato Si Principles for a Thriving Future,” further emphasizes his commitment to sustainable development. This paper was also the subject of his presentation at the BIOME 8 National Biodiversity Conference, held on August 1, 2024, in Puraran, Catanduanes.
His work underscores the Churchโs commitment to supporting scientific endeavors that advance the common good, protect the environment, and promote human dignity. Fr. Jayveeโs contributions exemplify the Churchโs ongoing efforts to support scientific research that honors ethical considerations and fosters human flourishing. His teachings remind us that faith and science, far from being opposing forces, can work together to achieve a deeper understanding of truth and a better future for all.
As Fr. Jayvee celebrates his birthday today, his life and work continue to inspire many. He stands as a testament to the power of integrating faith and science, demonstrating that this alliance is not merely a theoretical ideal but a lived reality. His teachings encourage us to pursue knowledge with humility and to recognize the divine in our quest for truth. Happy Birthday, Reverend Father Jayvee Delos Santos! May your journey continue to illuminate the path for those seeking to harmonize faith and reason in the pursuit of a better world.
