Children take part in anti-child labor advocacy run

Nueva Valencia, Guimaras- Over 1000 participants, mostly children, joined in the "Fun Run for a Cause" to advocate the elimination and prevention of child labor on February 1, 2025 from Brgy Igang to the Municipal Plaza of Nueva Valencia Guimaras.

Organized by DOLE RO 6 through its Guimaras Field Office, the activity was aimed to highlight DOLEs advocacy against child labor and to underscore the protection of the rights of the children especially in providing them proper education.

The Municipality of Nueva Valencia showed full support to the advocacy by making the Fun Run part of the yearly Sadsaran Festival.

The energetic participants also bathe with vibrant colors from the splash of the festival en route to the finish line. They also poured their energy in a lively Zumba session and were treated with simple snacks.

Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez, Jr. was inspired by the enthusiasm of the children and pushes for similar activities in other provinces of the region.
