
Iloilo City- In line with the commitment to eliminate child labor, the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Office VI, turned over 10 sacks of rice to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 6 for the family of 40 identified child laborers and children at risk from the Province of Capiz, and 120 from the Province of Antique.
As an active member of both National and Regional Councils Against Child Labor and an advocate for childrenโs rights, the Department of Agriculture Regional Office VI continues to contribute to the efforts aimed at promoting safe environments and better opportunities for children in agricultural communities. This assistance forms part of its continuing support to address child labor and to help the vulnerable children and their families in their daily needs.
The rice will be distributed to the identified child laborers and children at risk during the conduct of Information and Service Caravans and Project Angel Tree activities organized by DOLE RO6โs Field Offices.

In Capiz, 40 child laborers benefited of the sacks of rice during theย Information and Service Caravanย which was held at Maribert Inland Resort, Pontevedra, Capiz on September 12, 2025.
The remaining sacks of rice turned overย by Engr. Jacson Demamay of the Department of Agricultureย will be distributed in November 2025 during the Information and Service Caravan in the Province of Antique.
Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez, Jr. expressed a heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Agriculture for its continued support in advocating for a child labor-free Philippines.
Through collaborative efforts, the stakeholders take meaningful steps toward protecting childrenโs rights and ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.
